I remember this moment very clearly. I was alone exploring the Jaisalmer desert in 2010 with a camel named Michael and a guide named Mo.
The sun was setting, Michael was burping and my phone kept ringing. I found it odd how in the middle of the Jaisalmer desert Airtel had a strong network and calls could come through.
We eventually stopped on a sand dune, I sat beside Michael and was offered chai from some desert Gypsies.
The sunset was slow, inspiring and golden. Just before the sun set completely I decided to complete some divinations for friends over the phone, I remember the sand sprinkling on my cards and the curiosity of the local gypsy children.
There are a few moments in life that stick like glue and this one, well… it never left me.
